Need some input.HOCSDAWG (my truck) has a flowmaster 40 muffler and stainless pipes but I am going to change that.I have to pass emissions inspection annually so I have to keep the cat. My plan is to go 2.25 inch stainless from just below 1st cat, install a free flowing main cat, retain the Flowmaster and split the outlet pipe and make two outlets.Need recommendations for a better free flow ing cat and whether 2.25 inch pipe is big enough or too big. Thanks for the input. BJ

are you gone bust out the frist cat and just have the 2nd cat

This is a nice one and its pretty cheap

Not sure about cat #1. Since it is "illegal" to tamper with emission control equipment ,if cat #1 is stopped up or otherwise appears to have malfunctioned it may suffer an accident while my truck is on the rack .It may come too close to a torch and get its innards removed.Capeche? Thanks for the info on the Summitt cat.Nice looking Mazda u have by the way.BJ

Any more sound with the cats gutted? I could do mine since I don't have to pass emissions here either I figure it would improve the sound as well comin through my Flow.

Lots more sound. I am sure u folks are too young to remember the ist gen Chevy V-8's but the sweetest sound that ever was was a bored ,stroked and Duntov cammed Chevy smallblock with gutted mufflers.BJ
