need a header!!!

so i have a major exhaust manifold leak and my truck sounds like a lawn mower it sucks!! can some one send me a link to a header that fits an 86 b2000 and tell me what fabrication is needed to put it on.. I saw a pacesetter for like $229 and i was wondering if anyone knows of one any cheaper. Thanks

so do i have to do any fabrication to put it on?? and should i wait cause im getting a weber 38 and taking off the emision crap.. im not going to be able to get a the weber for a while so i hope i can just throw on a header as is.. I also am going to get a high flow cat.

shouldn't need much fab, bolt on the header, take the three egr lines off the air cleaner, make a small block off plate where the reed valve housing is on the front of the air cleaner, as far as the exhaust, once the header is on you will need a short piece welded or clamped on to the collector end that will go to the hi-flo cat, then a short piece to your muffler, then out from there with 1 or 2 pipes your preference.

What about the o2 sensor on the stock exhaust. I know u dont need it on a Webber,but if it isnt hooked up to the stock Nikki,wont the carb go to full rich default and screw the pooch re mileage and running ok??Just a question as I would jerk my stock exhaust off in a minute if the o2/carb issue were not out there.BJ

tru bj, it would effect the carbs performance. but the pacesetter comes with a short piece that has an o2 bung pre welded on it which hooks onto the header just past the collector. if the stock one can't be pulled out of the stock manifold (have a tendancy to be rusted), get a new one, the wire will have to be rerouted since it's position will be lower than stock.

will my truck sound different i have a magnaflow muffler on right now

you have a magnaflow on now & are gonna put on a header....it shouldn't change the sound too much if anything it might get slightly louder /deeper....
