My '93 B2600i just started making a rattling noise today on the way home from work. The noise seems to be coming from the area where the timing chain and the balance shaft assemblies are located. Is this something I can drive till the weekend when I will have time to fix it, or is it something serious that will cause damage if I continue driving?

are you sure it has a chain and not a belt? i really don't know. i was just in h-town today. what part are you on, i will be down there again this weekend.

yah. it has a chain. my previous b2000 had a belt. I am looking at a haynes wanna B manual trying to figure the relationship of all the components in that area. Not a very good book. My apologies, I need to update my info, I am in Corpus Christi now.

i'd pull the cover & take a look see, if it is loose (chain, tensioner, or balance shaft) & comes off you could have a bunch of probs!
