Hey, I just got a weber 34 for my '88 4x4 and I was wondering if I need to get the pressure regulator or not. It has the mitsu 2.6 and I dont know if I need one or not.
thanks,

not if your runnin the stock mech. fuel pump....as long as your running @ 3-4 psi & flowing 75-90 gph you should be alright....

well, I picked one up just in case, but I cannot find a mech fuel pump. it looks like it should be above the intake but there is a block off plate and 2 hoses attached to the plate. I am wondering if the motor in my truck came from a d-50 cuase the intake does not have the mazda style and the exhuast manifold looks like a mini-header also used on a d-50, but it did have the mazda carb on it.

right now I am trying to figure out which hose is my fuel supply and which one is the return. there is 2 hoses comming off the plate but there is also one on other side of the intake closer to the fenderwell, they all go to metal lines that run under the truck to the gas tank, and they all smell like fuel.

Most of todays fuel injection / electrical fuel pump systems run for a second or two then shut off until engine runs. Not sure if this is true for a 1988 engine. Does vehicle have a computer? If not, electrical pump may run when ever key is on. As far as the three lines go, I believe 1 is supply, 1 is return, and 1 is a tank vent line that vents to the carb for emissions.

R U running the stock Mazda Hitachi 4 barrel or another carb. The 88 2600 is carbed not injected and had a Hitachi carb not the Mazda Nikki. If it is stock it is a mechaical pump driven off the cam.BJ

my truck had a mikuni on it. it has a computer, but without the mikuni on there, I no longer need the computer. I got a weber 34 it says it requires 3.5 psi. looking at the old carb, we figured out which one is the suplly and which one is the return. the one that has 2 hoses comes off of one hose then splits into 2, that is my supply, I need to cap one of them off, the other is my return, I need to cap that one off too.

hopefully, if weater permits, I will be able to finish and get to some off-roadin'.
