i have a 93 b2200 and when its cold out it wont heat up and it barely idles at 500-800 and keeps stuttering and backfires sometimes, i nave no idea what it could be. i was thinking timing any other suggestions?

i assume it is carbed.Sounds like ur choke is not working.There is a wire that comes off the back of the alternator and plugs into the choke on the carb.Be sure it is not unplugged.U also have a carb heater plate under the carb that is also electric with a wire that goes to it.Be sure it is plugged in.the way to check if choke is working is to take top off air cleaner,turn switch on but do not start truck,press accelerator down about 1/2 way and release.Look at carb and choke should be in closed position.Hope this helps.BJ

hey, i checked the choke, and all the connections.
but its still total shit. the rings are going would that have anything to do with it? the only thing i can think of new, plugs, wires cap and rotor, i'm kinda thinking i fried them with the new accel coil.
