I found out that the turn knob for my cold to hot was not hooked up to the cable , thus no hot air

Now it has warm air but seems to take like 20 minutes to blow warm, and I have noticed that my temp gauge is running a bit higher since I manually switch it to hot. It was running the needle in the middle of the gauge now it is between half and O-$hit, also I can smell a faint scent of anti-freeze but no liquid inside the cab that I know of..

Any idea on this problem above? also how hard is it to change out the core? I figure I will have to pull the dash to change my turn knob for the air temp and fugure that it would be a good time to change the core since the dash is out. I have never changed a heater core before ahs anyone done it?

You don't have to pull the dash to fix the hot cold cable just that trim peace. Mine was messed up to till a few weeks ago had to repair mine. As for the heater core I hear its a bitch to fix if thats whats wrong with it try flusing the system see if that helps with the heating problem If not it might help show the leak better so you can fix it right the frist time

Yea it is tight but just to replace that cable you dont have to pull the dash. to change the heater core you do
