My girlfriend is wanting to get into mini trucks and all. we found a nice 1986 Mazda B2000 pickup. This truck is cab-plus, SE-5 package. The vehicle exterior is in decent condition, interior is in very good condition. It has a new muffler, new master cylinder, new cd player, brand new rear speekers, and brand new rear shocks. Runs great, has 180k orriginal miles, 2.0L carbureted 4cylinder engine, very die hard, it is nearly impossible to damage the engine because nothing requires electronics to function.

the problem is... she doesn't know and doesn't want to know how to drive a stick...

how hard would it be to swap a automatic into the truck?

she wants to eventually bag it, and drive it daily. we are gonna hit up the shows with license plates saying HIS DWG & HER DWG, while parked next to each other...

If its all stock than the 2.0's have the same system as a newer 2.2 few miner differnces in the carbs but nothing major. as for the auto tranny find a B2000 or B2200 auto parts truck and swap it out the B2000 and B2200 use the same trannys.

the truck we are looking at is a standard transmission b2000. we are gonna get an automatic and swap it in. what are we going to have to change in order to do this? is it just a bolt up assembly?

The overdrive on the A/T is electric and there is a solenoid connection u will have to make to get o/d to work. The auto truck has a 2 row radiator so if u get the a/t get the radiator and cooling lines as well.I think the front end of the driveshaft is different so get the driveshaft as well.
