I was going to say fuel filter, but that should affect it all the time. IDK for sure but I'm quite sure someone does.

hey man, i read this before but didn't even think about it. in my 65 mustang i had this exact same problem only the car would completely die and i would have to wait a minute to crank it back up. we searched forever to figure out what the problem was and all it was, was a kinked fuel line. so i would check all your fuel lines and make sure none of them or kinked.

I would say fuel filter kinked fuel line like the others have said. That would be a good place to start. What kind of lifters do you have. Mine was doing some what the same thing. Turns out one of my Hyd lifters went bad. Even though it was not clicking. Swaped them out with the manual ones and fixed the problem.

have you checked your plugs? could have a fouled plug or 2. also try some seafoam in the fuel system.
