I need to know how to replace the valve seals. I already have them bought and I have the adapter to put air in the cylinder to hold the valves up. But how do you take it all apart? Please help and thanks!

*bump*

what spring compressor can be used while the head is on the block?

Hey nevermind. Found this.

To pry up the old seals, I found that a bent 10-inch needle nose pliers worked like a charm.

and to drive them on a 1/2 inch deep well socket worked really good just keep it level to the valve guide

Sweet. Thanks to both of you for those pointers! While I'm at it I'm going to test compression before & after replacing the seals. Thanks again.

Seals wont make a difference in a compression test. A compression test gives you the pressure in the combustion chanber while the valves are closed. If that number is low than it means worn rings, bad/bent valves, or worn valve seats. So the valve seals wont affect those numbers.

Well I still need to do one to check the rings

good point on that

And a $20 compression test kit from O'Reilys gives me the air hose adapter! Advanced wanted $40 for the same kit. Well the gauge was bigger, but all the same fittings etc. So the next dry day I get this problem will be fixed.

Today was that better day I've been looking for. Got the new seals put on the valves! Yay
