Not a bad motor...there ar elots of 4.0 performance sites out there...

Yes that is a great motor.

That motor pushes around the 200hp mark off of the crank. There is a guy that swapped the 4.0 SOHC in for his 4.0 OHV in a 5spd, std. cab ranger and used the OHV computer with factory drivetrain. The truck ran low 14's in the quarter mile on street tires. Keep in mind this is using the OHV computer. Not sure if he ever got it re-tuned.

Those motors are very well capable, and in a little mazda, supercharged would be one fast little street driven truck. Make sure to get the 5speed! The 5spd automatic tranny that comes with the 4.0 SOHC aren't bad at all, but you'd really do it good with a 5spd.

...Or get the proper bellhousing and bolt it to a mazda 5 speed.

Where can you get the proper bellhousing?

Or are you talking about the 94+ Mazda 5spd.

I think it is used in F150s with the 4.0. Bolts a Ford motor to a Mazda trans.

f-150's dont come with a 4.0??? only explorers,rangers,aerostars???

f150's with 6 cylinders are either 300ci I-6's (up to 96) or 4.2 v6's (97+)

the 94 - 2000 mazdas with the 4.0 5 speed use a mazda tranny, it bolts right up. Or you can get the tranny from the 05 mustang....there is a kit that makes those work too...and there is a kit for a t-5 tranny from a 5 liter motor as well.
