hiding the wiring harness

how do i do it? i am planning to swap a holley carb onto my truck so what do i do with all the bundles of wire in my engine bay? where can i get a wiring diagram for my truck? i have an '89 b2200 single cab. thanks

Simplest way I can say it is "one at a time". For the most part, the entire passenger side harness goes away except for the windwhield wiper wiring. I would highly recommend picking up a Haynes manual at AutoZone or other parts store. They usually have a wiring diagram in the back with color coding.

I redid my whole underhood harness on my 94, to move the computer and run the harnesses through the fenders. I did it one wire at a time, and it took around 2 days for all 100 and some wires.

Make sure to solder and heatshrink every connection, and use wire taht is at least the same gauge as the factory if not 1 gauge thicker.

For the wires that you do see Painless makes a really nice braided wire loom. It gives a classy look to hiding wires.

thanks for the help guys. i've decided to take the whole thing out so i can clean the whole thing up b/c im gettin rid of a lot of factory stuff like heat, a/c, all the emissions stuff. i kinda like wiring stuff as wierd as that sounds. do u know what guage the stock wire is? i figure its around 18 bt im not sure

yea i think im gonna regrett not havin a/c this nummer....i love a/c.....oh well i got no ac/heat/defrost.or wipers....otherwize known as a roling violation....oh well i can probably talk wy way out of a ticket as long as im not driving in the rain..witch im gonna try to avoid at all costs...trucks only gonna be drivin to cruize nites and on the weekend and stuff.....as long as they dont make me pop the hood everything will be OK,,,im gonna polish the rotary turbo off the topp of the intercooler so atleast it will have to be a smart cop if im gonna get a ticket...its the MOT ( ministry of transportation) you gotta woryabout up here i got a buddy with a carbed 427 in a '96 blazer he got pulled by those guys and they cited him a 300 dolar ticket for every emisions device he had ommited while putting in the new engine...came to like 1800$...up here in canada the rule for swaps is that every emisions device that came with the stock chasis must be on the swapped engine...

i think i can deal without havin no a/c and heat cause i wont be drivin it for a while and when i do drive it i rarely use the heat or a/c. am i gonna need a special device to collect the coolant or freon from the a/c system b4 i take it out?

cough cough.. umm the sidecutters slipped i swear...... just cut a line and walk awayfrom it for a while it will vent out....hope nobodys a member of the epa or greenpeace on hear...

go to a shop that has the machine they will probably take out pretty cheap if you not wanting anything else done.

aight that shouldnt be too hard cause i know a few guys that own shops. whats the best way to get the harness out?
