Aye! Well, first of all, I'd appreciate it myself if you typed up your explanation like you go to school. I had to read it a few times before I understood you.

Well, let me start first by asking you this:

When you were you going up the hill did the truck die because he did'nt down shift soon enough, so therefore it died? What happened when you tried to crank it over again? If it cranked over, what did the engine sound like?

well first off im sory for my bad spelling or what ever. but it winned tried to start like the stater wasn't hitting the fly wheel. no it didn't die becuse of not shifting soon enough.

What exactly is the problem you are having?? Will the truck not start?? Or will it start and not run??
oregonmazdoger   +1y
it won't start and makes a weird noise like the starter isnt kickin in but the motor turns so i know it isnt the starter

If I understand you correctly, it sounds as though your timing chain has broken. When your timing chain breaks, the motor will spin very fast and make no sounds what so ever like it wants to start. I would start by removing the distributor cap, then have someone turn the key to crank the engine while you watch to see if the rotor is spinning while the engine is cranking, if it is not spinning, your timing chain has broken. If it spins then it is not the chain... hope this helps! L8RS!!

it is in time. the chain is not broke. motor spins with starter. there is spark to the plugs. the valves work and its still not wanting to fire. and it wines a weird noise when crank it over please help we are lost

Are you getting fuel to the carb? It sounds like you have everything but either fuel or compression. A motor needs 3 things to run... fuel mixed with air, spark, and compression. You said your getting spark and it has to be getting air. Check and see if your getting fuel to the carb and the carb is doing it's job and injecting it into the intake manifold. If you have fuel do a compression test and see what your compression is.

If you don't have fuel replace the fuel filter first since it's cheap and they will clog if they get old. If that doesn't work check the fuel pump and see if it's doing its job. The easy way to do that is take the fuel line off the carb and have someone crank over the motor with the end of the hose in a large cup. Make sure you don't have anything thats going to create a spark while your doing this or the truck not starting will be the least of your problems.
