Hey guys n gals. I want to put the turbo on my truck, i would like to get some advice on what i wanna do.

I dont actually want to attatch the chargepipe to my carb, because i know it'll run like absolute shit. Would it be possible to hook up the turbo manifold and what not (once i get a weber so i can lose emissions), not run the chargepipe to the carb, and still get the "pshhhhhhht" (i wanna run a Greddy blowoff valve.)

How about something like this??

or have the bov at the end of a corner of a charge pipe bend so it the air through the bov takes a path of least resistance type deal?

bahh someone fill my head with some helpful ideas please lol

im sorta confuzed.. so u want the blow off but you dont want any boost running into your intake?.....dosent sound like much funn.....ive never turbod a carbed vechile but i belive u need to build a sealed enclosure around the carb so that the pressure inside the carb is the same as the pressure outside the carb...someone correct me if im wrong!

There are two types of choices in a carburetor turbo setup: “Suck-throughâ€

I dont want anything running into the carb. lol. i just want the spoool and the blowofff. lol. i dont want to boost a 200km motor, even though its running good. its like playing with dynamite lol

I dont think the carb before the turbo will work. I don't think I have ever even seen a setup like that. The main problem with that is getting the vehicle to start. The air/fuel mix would have a hard time getting to the intake manifold if its been sitting a while. It would need the pressure of the turbo to push the mix along. Second, you risk burning up the turbo or ruining the compressor side. The fuel could dilute the oil in the bearings if the seals go bad or are worn just slightly. I could be wrong, but I have never seen anything like that before. If I am please show me an example. Id like to see a setup like that.

What you are wanting to do without hooking up the compressed side is a bad idea. If its not sealed on one end the BOV isn't going to go off in the first place, second the turbo will over spin itself. The compression slows down the turbo and keeps it from over reving. Without that pressure build up it won't last long.

If you do seal the other end again the BOV won't work since it relies on vacuum to open it. That will cause the turbo to keep building pressure until it needs to be released. That will cause compressor surge and make the turbo spin backwards when the air tries to escape where it came from, the intake. This again is bad for the turbo and the engine if its severe enough. That will make the turbo work in reverse and pressurize the exhuast side.

What exactly would you spend the money to do that for? Seems like a big waste of turbo parts and cash to me.

i wonder if those really ound like a bov..the exhaust ones that is, i might check one out here n a bit. any one heard one? -bf

you might be better off just making a speaker with the pssssst sound mounted under the hood that is triggered every time you switch gears? Or just stick your head out the window and go psssst every time you feel like you need to "have that sound"

those fake bov things don't work like they claim and they sound like shit lol , just a whistle sound.

but i guess if you don't really know what a bov or spooling turbo sounds like you could be fooled hhahaha

if you want the sound, buy a turbo sprint and buy a big fat bov. fast cheap turbo. zingo.
