Poor gas mileage

Well, I've got my weber carb on now. But, with it, I've got great performance now, but I think I may still have bad gas mileage! I'm not sure what the cause is, but I think it may be either the catalytic converters, PCV valve, or my weber's jets? I was also told its also probably because of the fact I have to warm it up every morning and use the heater. But from 22 to 12? I think there is something else... I've also covered half the radiator to warm it up faster now...

How many miles do you get to a tank of gas?

My engine is newly rebuilt,I only have 10 000km on it,stock carb,p&p head,bored out,and a 2.25" exhaust with a high flow cat and I get like 380km to empty,which is kinda crappy I think,but it's cheap to fill up,unlike my Rodeo,lol

looking at your sig pic, your tires might also have something to do with the crappy milage.

Are you sure you hooked up the choke right?
If it's closed all the time, it will kill your gas mileage.

does it run smoke?
i doubt your pcv has anything to do with it. un plug it and drive around a little while. it won't do anything but might sputter a little oil. don't pull the hose from the valve, pull the valve from the valve cover.
does it run or sound funny? might be an indicator of a plugged cat.
warming up your truck in the morning won't cause your MPG to be cut in half, unless you warm it up for an hour every day...

I have abotu a 15 gal. tank. When I go to fill up after about 160 miles, I pump about 13 gal.! Thats horrible!

I used to get upwards to 300 miles before I had to fill up. I thought it was my carb, but when I filled up again, the numbers did'nt add up. There has to be something else...

My engine is less than 10k miles on it since its a rebuild. Almost everything has been replaced on the engine, except exhaust, dist., and coil.

Thats why I thought it may be my cats. I took it in to an exhaust guy for a repair, and we checked the cats. They did'nt show anything on the outside to indicate their faulty. But it may have changed now since it was in the summertime.

I have all season tires on now that are bigger than the ones in the pic. But that do'nt necessarily matter. Its the proper inflation, really. And yes I keep them properly inflated.

When I warm the choke up, the butterflies open like they should, but a buddy said they are supposed to be striaght up and down, but they have a slight slant. Dunno if that affects anything?

No, my truck does'nt smoke at all! If I'm not mistaken the PCV valve directs the blowby gases to be burnt off but I actually 'am mistaken it with the emissions hoses from the exhaust.

I'm not sure to as to what it may sound funny as. I notice that the weber sounds alot diff. though, lol. I have great accel. and no hesitation or anything... Who knows... I thought idling uses more gas than running?
