i just rebuilt my motor and i set the timing and then when i crank it over and look at it .. its at a different mark ..i dont think my valves bent .. i need to take my truck to school soon plz help thankyou..

sounds like a rattle can inside my valve cover i g uess i need a new head mine was fully worked anybody got an extra one cheap is there any head swap that adds more power

try resetting your timing, good info on that on mazdatrucking.com, then have a go at it again, the timing shouldn't be slipping, rather off, if there is a "rattle can" in the head, you could very well have broken something or something just came loose......as far as different heads, the 12v out of a mx-6 or 626, or even the kia 16v head would work, but then you get into issues with the intake, wiring, etc......

i cant jus use my intake and a weber on those
i think ill jus get a new head and get it worked again

what motor you got does it have the solid lifters or the hydro lifters.

Ok first off you can set the timing on these trucks wrong all day long wont bend a valve. 2nd did you set the lifters with a filler gage. If not that might be were the rattle is coming from. as for the timing I think you have to turn the motor over 4 complete turns to be back to were you start. So If you turn it only 2 it will be in a different place. Also make sure the timing belt tenser is doing its job. don't trust the spring It does not always put the right amount of tension on the belt.
