is anyone running an aftermarket one reason i'm asking is that i bought one and was woundering if i just could run that alone. the directions say that it has to be in series with the rad and the tranny

some people say i can i'm just tryin 2 find someone who is running one on a b2200 so i can confirm it

by in series do you mean mounted in front of the radiator? if so you can mount it there, or out of harms way buy itself.....are you installing this on an automatic tranny?

Automatic B2200's come with a "trans cooler" from the factory. It aint much of one but it is there. It basically is a loop of the trans line behind the radiator on the passenger side.Lol.BJ

i'm replacing the transcooler my rad went to shit so i got another one for free but its a 5 speed rad

and the tranny cooler kit shows that were the tranny line comes out of the rad it has to hook up into the cooler i got then go back into the tranmission my question is if i just run it just to the cooler on its own will it be ok

and yes its an auto tranny

I think the reason that the A/T line runs into and out of the radiator is so the A/T fluid can heat up when it is cold outside. If u run the A/T line straight into and out of the cooler, there will be no opportunity to warm the A/T fluid up and it will be very sluggish .If u live in a cold climate I dont think I would advise doing it that way.But maybe someone else on here has done it that way and can advise u better than me.Even with sythetic fluid and living in a temperate climate my A/T can be pretty sluggish on below 30 degree mornings.BJ

hmmmm i don't really plan 2 drive it when its cold out so i'm gonna assume that its gonna be ok then

OK-let us know how everything works out and we may all learn something.BJ

i'll porbly just get a tranny temp guage just so i can keep an eye on it

anyone know what the avereage temp of the tranny should be?

you may want to be careful with that 5 spd radiator using it with an automatic, the autos came with 2 row core rads, where as the 5 spd's
are single row cores......keep an eye on your coolant temps!
