whoa, hold your horses thair newt!
your rebuilding your engine, but your trying to do it with it still in the truck.....? don't get me wrong, it can be done the way your doing it, but it is going to be a lot harder on you to rebuild it with it still
in the truck. your better off if you pull the whole engine, than trying to remove the front x-member. chances are if you do get the x-member out, you'll have a helluva time getting it back in. if you don't have a cherry picker (engine hoist), you can probably rent one from napa or another autoparts store if you don't have the $$ to buy one, also you'll need an engine stand, or a clean work bench....., put the bolts & pins back into the x-member, and get a cherry picker, you'll take the engine mounts loose, remove the starter, and unbolt it from the tranny, and hook it to the cherry picker, and it will come right out. then mount it to the engine stand & dissassemble it, if no stand, a bench will work, but it will just be more cumbersome.....
just trying to save you some heartache
