I've been doing a lot of thinking about a RX-7 motor in my 93 2200. Is this one of those rediculous swaps or is it something the average person with pretty good skills can handle? If anyone has ever done it please post lots of pics so I can see what I'm gonna come out with as well as where in the hell I can get the motor from. I'll be doing research tonight and posting what I find also.
it mostly depends on which rx-7 engine you want to use, if you were to use a 12a, then it wouldn't be too hard, but if you were to use a 13b, then you get into issues of using the rx's wiring harness....
ok .. im doing this right now.. as far as hettin the engine in the truck its a piece of cake.. you use two driverside motor mounts and it bolts in!..the holes are already in the frame!..you have to fab a tranny crosmember too...as for wireing if you can folow a schematics its not gonna be that hard..just keep going one wire at a time..i used jspecautosports.com i orded the engine with the harness and comp. intackt the only place it was cut is where it goes through the firewall.....new driveshaft will be required ...i have to yank my moror back out soon to finish my firewall ill snap some detailed pics of the mounts....a carbed motor is easier but hey everyone n thermothers got a 350 chev._...oh yea a custom downpipe will be required for layin frame.
