Air Cleaner Filters

I got a ?? I was cleaning my air cleaner n decide to take the front air injection unit apart n noticed there a filter along with something in front of it, Where can i replace that filter? it looks almost like a lawn mower air filter from back in the days lol.. do i need them there? can i just rid them? i am just cleaning everything up b4 i put the motor back in. the filter was sooo dirty that compress air was barely getting by, could that cause me to fail the emisson? i have narrowed it down to few parts like the upper cat was clogged, rid the honeycombs so it should run much better when i put it all back together. Any info would be great! thanks..Todd

Hey man i took out those filters while back and noticed it makes the engine breath better... U should just rid them.. What part of tucson are u at? i am on the north westside

Mazda can get that filter, I have never been able to get them from the local jobber.

Hey i called a couple of mazdas dealership around the states and alot of parts store around my city n those filters are discontnuied, havent found any websites that carries them. does anyone know wherei can get these 3 little filters? i would assume it would need it to keep any exhuast crap from entering the air cleaner ? any info would be awesome.

Never mind folks, I found the filters this morning thru a mazda dealership, they want 40 for each filters, also i found they carry fan blades also if any of you guys are lookin for one. they dont have much parts left for these trucks. U can find the fan blade at go to parts depts... I hope this helps for any mbs folks
