i've finally done it, got a weber. now to install it...

no pacesetters this time, so i'm wondering how to deal with the pipes coming from the exhaust that used to lead to the old air cleaner. should i just plug them? or remove them? plug the hole with what?

thanks

Cut the pipe a few inches away from the exhaust manifold and crimp it off. You can do this by taking the pipe off the exhaust manifold and use a vise to pinch it shut and then fold it over. It looks ugly though. Another way is if you can cap it off somehow. As far as the the four holes on the top, I just put some strong bolts in them. Use anti seize on the threads though.

That's great, thanks for the pictures Luke. Why didn't i think of that? Easy fix.

And another question for you:

What does the adjustment screw just behind the electric choke body on my new weber 32/36 DGEV? Does it control the choke? How do I set it correctly? It's not the idle adjust, or the mixture...I've adjusted those already.

yours is a b2000 in an 89 correct? lukes is an 84 b2k which is a ma engine, his exhaust comes out on the passenger side of the truck....same principle as he has explained, except instead of bolts on yours, i think most people get some chevy lug nuts and cap off the 4 holes on the exhaust manifold, now for the flange on the collector, that is a different story, i've heard of making a little plate, and jb welding it on, or flipping a closed lug nut off & jb welding it in there too.....i think russ d had a pic in one of his older posts.

cool, thanks for the info.

what I did was stick lug nuts in the end of all three rubber hoses and put hose clamps on them. Not pretty but will work until you get a header.
