Well i just bought a mazda b2200 ext cab. dont know if it runs and wont know until i get my ignition... anyway i always see people on here and yotascene raving about these carbs, what is so great about them how much are they are they worth the money? are they smog legal? i am building an extreme budget truck.... what it doesnt need it doesnt get lol. anyway any input would be nice thanks.

They are great carbs. They are inexpensive for a race/performance carb and it gives you a good amount of extra power. However, if you install one, you will have no need for all of your emissions equipment. So you will heve to detune your engine a lot to get it past DEQ.

how much is inexpensive for the kit and which one would i get?? without the smog stuff how am i suppose to pass emissions i live in cali, the toughest place to pass is here lol

inexpensive is $300, plus some little extras, like high temp locktite and gasket sealer, breather, etc., adding up to maybe $30. i'm probably not the person to be answering this, but from what i've heard, you probably won't pass emissions tests in cali with a weber on.
hopefully when you get your ignition in you find that you've got a working stock carb. i went through two nikki(stock) carbs, which are now in a junk heap, before getting to fed up with them and buying a weber. it's really a great boost to the trucks performance and mileage, not to mention the simplicity under the hood...decisions...decisions...

if you were to get one, i believe the Weber 32/36 DGEV is the right one for you.

From their site "racing and off road use only and must never be used on the highways in California". It's supposed to get better mileage so a new pre-cat and a good catolytic converter might pass inspection. Unless you do visual too. Hopefully someone from cali will post up. And like hhalo23 said, yours might be good anyway. Good luck man

If u dont want to do a Weber cause of emissions/dollars,consider a 5200 series Holley.U can get them by the buckets full in junk yards off Ford 4 and 6 cylinder cars from the mid 70s to mid 80s.They will fit the manifold, and will pass inspection with some tweaking and u can get a stock airfilter to put on the carb that should pass a visual. They also are far more potent than the Nikki we are stuck with (thank u Mr. Mazda whoever u r .).BJ

lol thanks man i didnt know that. those come factory on those vehicles?

Yes they did. They are also rebuildable, kits are still available and best of all u can tune them (ie rejet them).BJ
