i have a 92 b2200 fuel injected, 260000 on the motor, no idea when the last time anything was done on it because i recently bought the truck. For a few months everything was running fine then just last week its started to act up, cruising on the highway it would randomly start bogging down and i could see white clouds behind me. at stop lights same thing just alot of white smoke, i checked the rad and the coolant res and the resi. was empty, and the rad was about half full. oil from the dipstick doesnt seem milky but im not too sure. ive had 2 people say there might be a crack in the head gasket letting coolant into the cyclinders only sometimes. which explains why the engine runs fine and then would randomly act up. any help is appreciated. i dont think im goin to replace the gasket, im looking for another engine with lower kms' and ill just swap it in. thanks kiefer

Bite the bullet, and just rebuild the engine. If you plan on keeping this truck, its going to save you alot of pain! Because if you think about it, the other one you swap it with won't be rebuilt and will still have many problems you need to fix. This would all involve tearing it all apart. So in your case, since you decide your ripping it, just rebuild it!

If you can't, just keep saving the green until the time comes!

has the truck ever overheated? the heads, and gaskets on the 22k's aren't the best, it very well could be the gasket alone, but then again it could be the head, only way to know for sure would be to pull the head & carry it to a shop & let them check it over....

yea im pulling the head tonight, and sending it tomoro for a pressure test, the reason i just wanted to swap something in quick is because this is my daily driver and i need it to run reliably and i need it asap. but what i think im going to do is just fix the head gasket on this, if that really is the problem, and buy another spare engine to rebuild on the side, and when im finished rebuilding i can just swap that one in and get rid of my old engine. Thanks for the help guys
