a 383 is a small block chevy for starters. same block as a 305, 327, 350, 355, etc.

and yes it will fit.

dude not to piss you off but chevy big blocks are 396,454,502 and the big daddy 572 they never built a 350 big block. But to answer your question yes we can put one in and there is alot to do with the newer models to fit it in.And there is a 400 small block and the 383 is just a 400 small block with the crank put in the 350 as I believe

yeh, it's putting out more power, but the other guys are right this is a small block. look up 350 in anyu parts magazine it will list it under small block parts.........

nah man u aint pissin me off or nothing thats just what i was told by my dad but i kinda thought it was a small block cause there were no parts what so ever for a 350 big block but its not a big deal thanks for the knowledge though.but one thing i was wondering the trans in now wont match up will it?

Go with a 302 or 351 ford alot easier. To answer your question no the trans will not work. You may need to do alot more research before you take any thing out. Alot of things need to be changed when you do an engine swap.

dr bob if you want to put a chevy motor in your truck pm me and I will try and help with some diagrams on the install as you are putting this in a 2005 mazda not an 86 to 93 style way different on the parts and the install.
