I looked at a picture of this sesnor on alldata.com, and it shows it in the thermostat housing- but that is alldata- not mazda. I personally do not own a factory fuel injected truck- otherwise I'd be outside verifying this for you- I'm all about helping other people out, I love mazda trucks, I am very interested in the trucks and how they are put together.

I will GIVE any information that I can- whether it's right or wrong. I'd rather not tell you something if I do not know that it is 100 percent correct. I do not want to mislead any one. I don't care about the information I know- in regard to GIVING it out. I feel most of the time no one wants to HEAR anything I have to say about these trucks anyways. I am also busy finding information for myself, damn right, and it is not my job to tender to these boards to make sure that all of the FI guys GET all the information they need GIVEN!

As for the thermosensor- at this point , with so much question as to it's factory location, I think you already know where it should go- so just make it fit- I wouldn't worry about getting the perfect part to hold the sensor- although it would be very nice for ease of assembly. Just drill and tap a hole- how many thermostat housings can you buy in the junkyard for a carbed mazda truck- like 15 for 5 bucks each probably- so instead of wasting 78 bucks for a genuine mazda one, go buy 15 used ones and fuck them up until you have it mounted correctly

Do you by chance have a picture of the thermal sensor? I'll look on my buddy's swapped truck, but I want to know what I'm looking for... If you would please post a pic of just the sensor, it would be greatly appreciated.

Alriiiiight... Now that I know what I'm looking for, I'll take a look on the one that my buddy has that had the swap done to it (before he bought it, unfortunatly otherwise, I'd ask him) I'll post any info I can once I take a look.

my bongo engine- an F* 1.8 f block with a 12 valve head, and fuel injection, has the thermosensor mounted in the thermostat housing, where it should be, and should be identical to the mazda 2200 FI truck, although, I have never seen the location for the sensor personally on a 2200 FI truck. I can ASSUME though, since they are both mazda f block fuel injected motors, that the location is the same. I have the exact same sensor in my bongo engine.
