wanna go fast!

ok so the rotary conversion is not going to happen on my budget anytime soon so what is the highest HP anyones running on the factory block? what does the B engine react well to? and to the people that say keep it slow i say if you want to go slow get a bicycle or a honda , stay away from the mazda scene!

FOr starters a FIDANZA flywheel will free up some of the horespower that you currently have. Then you can get cams for them, port the head out, EXTRUDE HONE is a great way to go, A header, either a pacesetter or a custom one(which I am looking at building, give me a couple weeks to figure out cost and what not), weber carb, or go crazy with a dual sidedraft setup. Those are all things that will make noticeble differences.

NYTRYDR is planning 190 hp on a 2200 block.I have not dynoed my 2200 but I guesstimate 115-120 hp max :Weber,ported/polished head and both manifolds,Accel,PAECO 6600 mild street cam,stiffer springs and aluminum retainers,billet underdrive pulley,tweaked shift points on AT,Flowmaster 40,Magnaflow cat,Flexalite fan,H2o injector.With all that a newer Honda Civic Si can eat my lunch.Hell I can eat my own lunch with my Volvo S40R.Worth the time ,money and effort?Who knows,I did it for me so I guess so.Hope I answered ur question, and hey,not all of us want to set asphalt on fire.Lol.BJ

what both the gentlemen above me has said is true, on a stock bottom end, @ 200 hp is max...& it will require some serious tweaking to get it there......there are many options with the stock block, but the top end is where the fun starts, the 8v isn't very performance oriented, a 12v bongo head would do the trick, or a 16v kia engine, and go from there......it all depends on how far you want to push the envelope

anyone ever looked into supercharging or turboing the B engine? its a 2.2 its gotta have some potential.

Yes a company called CAMDEN uses to make a turbo kit....and lots fo guys do the MX-^ or Probe turbo 4 banger swap.

actually grav, they make the supercharger, the turbos come off the mx6gt, 626 gt, or probe gt. i have only seen one s/c on a b, and someone posted pics of it's e-bay auction....twast verry sweet!
