altenator q

is there a higher amp output alt other than our stock one that would bolt up to our 2.2? im gonna run 2 15s in my truck and need to upgarde the alt...options that i found out so far; rewind the stock alt a gain a little more amps or buy a ohio high amp alt which cost like 600 bux which is out of the question for me... any other stock alt. from another car or something?

I think some of the 85 amp GM 1 wires work but u lose your electric choke (no great loss).BJ

....$400 for my alt. 200 amps! Mine came with a bracket kit for our truck. Just had to get a belt like an inch longer. My sound system draws 135 amps. You would be fine if you got the same as mine.

These are HO alts. and very worth it! I've had so much trouble finding someone and this is the one place I will go to now for my charging needs.



Give 'em a try. I've had a couple other posters recently talk about alternators and it seems like I can't convince anyone! I use it and I think that should be enough testimony!

$400 for an alternator? wow i'd have a hard time buying one too. my roommate just got a 100 amp GM 1wire alternator from autozone for less than $100
