ok so this was a TRIP!!!!!

my truck quit on me lastnight on the way to work....no fuel so i pulled the pump(because i have a spare) and then removed the fuel filter to replace it..there was a six inch piece of plastic it almost looked like weedeater line)...anyhow i pulled it out the truck runs great again..now my question is where the hell did the piece of plastic come from???...my best guess is the olf filter came apart put the plastic was on the inlet side against pressure.....any thoughts??

Does your gas gauge still work right? maybe a piece of the fuel level sending unit? Thats weird.

That is weird. Im just trying to think of what could possibly look like weed eater string and the only thing I can think of is the little plastic string that attaches to your gas cap. But I don't know if our trucks even have one. Mine didn't.

ok i cut the filter apart an it was full of this crap it looks kinda like r/c car fuel line.......wierd

im starting to think at one time someone may have tried to syphon gas and lost some clear hose an over time it went to shat.....

Ya it sounds like you definately got something in your tank. Drop it and clean it out.
