I remember when I had my 2600i and I had to replace the headgasket, it had a 2 peice intake assembly, so today, I was wondering if anyone has mated a supercharger to the lower part of the intake manifold, like one from a thunderbird or something. Do you think it would add enough power to even bother with it, I am just kind of curious cuase it seems like those intake manifolds would be so easy to modify to add a supercharger.

It seems that if u wanted to do that u would just find a mid-80's T-Bird or MustangSVT or Merkur with the blown 2.3 liter Ford 4 banger and drop that in.There was an 86 long bed 2000 on eBay a while back set up like that.Kick myself for not buying it.It was awesome.BJ

I have pondered that myself. I wonder if the stock MAF would be able to "handle" 6-9 lbs. of boost, which is what I would expect to push with the stock internals. I have been unable to find any info on the "turbo/supercharger compatability" of the stock injectors, MAF, and ignition system.

I would upgrade the ignition, use a standalone fuel mgmt system like Megasquirt and use the stock injectors.Keep boost at 5-7 pounds .I am running an aftermarket chip on an otherwise stock car w/ non-maz engine at 13 pounds of boost and no probs with the internals.BJ
