timeing or distributer shaft

my b2600I will run for a short period and then a white puff off smoke will puff out of the airfilter do i need a new distributer shaft or just a timeing done

did you recently do any work (timing belt or head work) where you removed the distributor?

i didnt do anything just got the truck for free

I'd be checkin' both! It sounds more like a timing issue. I don't understand how it would run for a short period and then puff smoke? Does it die right after? It may be something else actually... But you are having spit-up through the carb, so timing is an issue here...

yeah it will run for like 2 seconds and puf out white smoke and shut off

your distributor might be misaligned... like 180 out or something
