this is really messed up, i am wondering how much oil my 2wd b2600 should hold.....

the reason is: i have done a motor swap for a 4wd motor, and the oil pan and pick up are completely different........the old block had a hole in it for the dip stick.......the new motor had it in the 4wd oilpan... ...so i need to fill my motor with oil and drive it to my friend at the exhaust shop, get him to punch a hole and braze the old dipstick tube onto the new oilpan

what a run around this has been, any help would be great i can't seem to find the answer.

U r talking about the non-fi Mitsu motor? As best I remember my 87 2600 4x4 held a smidge less than 5 quarts with filter change.I think u could safely put 4.5 quarts in and get it where u r going without hurting anything. You might be able to check online for themid 80's Mitsu Conquest,Starion or D-50 Dodge truck with the 2600 motor and see what they call for.It is the same engine that u have-also some of the mid 80s Chrysler K-cars had the Mitsu 2600.BJ
