Jdm Engines

Hey i just picked up a 2.0 jdm engine cheap. I was wondering has anyone swap out there engine with a jdm engine? I was looking at it n noticed the intake is slighty different from our intake, also noticed the jdm engine has no wiring coming out of the egr like my old one does. Everything else looks ok. Should i reuse my old intake? also noticed that it came with a different air cleaner, i would like to use it but dont think i can pass emisson with it.. And another ? has anyone use pacesetter headers n still pass emisson? I am working on adding pics to myspace page, i will post the link as soon i get it up n going.. any info would be awesome!

i used one in my mazda had to use everything off my old motor except the block,head,timing belt cover. had to use old brackets,oil pan,intake.manifold, and clutch and fly wheel.

Thanks for the info. I noticed last night when i pulled out my old intake out it has a crack on it. Now i need get another intake for 2.0 fe, there is a part truck near me n he has a 2.2L in it can i use the intake off a 2.2 n put it on 2.0? oh also i noticed on the jdm engine head there a hole right under the valve, looks like it for the egr passage, on my old intake the hold is seal off, can i leave that alone?sorry if i am not clear enough but any info would be great..

i put a 2.0 head on my 2.2 and the intake bolted right up with all the same passage ways. so i don't see why a 2.2 intake wouldn't work.

what exactly is a jdm engine???.....sorry if its a stupid question

is there any difference between the 2.2 head and the 2.0 head? if it bolts up and there is an advantage to using one or the other it would be good to know.

if you put a 2.0 head on a 2.2 it will increase your compression

i don't know about it increasing compression, i am not saying you are wrong, i am just saying i don't know. all i know is i love the mechanical lifters.
