wow ok so my ac compressor from under the clutch so i wanted to get a new one. i bought one from out of state and they shiped it out to me. it was off of a 88 like mine. the wired thing is that the holes for the lines to the condencer are in a difrent spot. i also went to a junk yard in town they had a 87 compressor and it looked realy difrent, the holes where on the side of the compressor... how many freakin difrent compressors did mazda put in our freakin trucks? anyway ill post pics soon

I dont believe that Mazda Bseries had factory A/C.Most if not all were installed as a dealer add-on,so it was what the dealers had in stock for compressors. Most were Sanden but there were some other kinds floating around out there.Bj

I have '88 B2200 with "factory" AC but I've put on a more-modern AC compressor which has the built-in high-pressure relief valve. Originally mine had Sanden SD 708 model 7229 and I've updated to Sanden SD 708 model 7225. The only quality rebuilts I'd even consider are available from

I too have an 89 b2200 with factory a/c, pumps froze though, gotta rebuild it.

i agree that site is super expensive, you can have your compressor rebuilt for about 100 bucks or rebuild it youreself for like 40-50. its really simple if its salvageable

you know mine wasnt even busted it just leaked freon from the front (clutch).

they make stop leak stuff, dont reccommend it but they make it it will only make the problem worse in the long run, that seal you an purchase for about 10 bucks and install it youreself, but if youre taking it apart you might as well rebuild the whole thing

Expensive is when you must repeat a job because you got cheap. There are cheaper compressors available (Four Seasons - known as For Seizin's-, Ready Aire, not known for their quality). Especially when you add in the cost of refrigerant and your efforts, even if you do own your own gauges and vacuum pump, and recovery system. Don't use any stop leak products in an automotive AC system unless you like going without AC.
