So i just got in from work at midnight and noticed my idle was kind of high so when i got in i thought i would do a quick adjustment in the dark...well dont you know as i was just touching up the idle mixture screw under the choke my screwdriver touched the choke and caused a spark then the engine died and wont start again. I know i blew something just please can someone tell me how deep of shit i dug myself into or if its just a fuse.. well going to bed but going to check back on the issue in the morning. thanks for any help

Did you notice where the spark came from? Most likely its a fuse.. but now the fun part is where is the short... aka the broken fuse. I would pull out your multimeter and a friend and try to find the broken fuse. If its not a fused wire.. then you have a short somewhere and need to cut out the bad part of the wire and replace it w/ an approperate sized fuse. Good Luck

BTW.. i'm unsure how you would have arched it unless you had a previous eletrical problem, or you touched the screwdriver to the alternator/battery terminal. Your idle screws shouldn't be hot aka carying voltage.

i had the screwdriver on the idle mixture screw and as it touched the bottem of the electric choke assembly or w/e you want to call it it had a spark right there which gave me reason to believe i f'd up my carb...going to check all the fuses right now hopefully all is well
