no power, please help

i hope someone can shed some light on this problem, lately my truck has been running strange, it seems to have lost alot of power, and will not rev above a certain rpm (don't have a tach, so i don't know exactly what rpm) for example my truck used to be able to pull to 55-60 mph in 3rd gear, now it WILL NOT go past 35mph in 3rd gear, it's like someone snuck a rev limiter on my truck overnight, also i've been getting crappy mpg. the wierd part is that other then that, it runs just fine. starts perfect, idles perfect, and runs just as smooth as always (well, smooth for a 180,000 mile motor) the motor smokes, but thats nothing new, its done that ever sense i've had it. the truck is a '93 b2200 carbed

Good tune up might help.Check vacuum line from manifold to distributer for leaks.Change the fuel filter-may be clogged up with dirt.If all else fails,jerk that crappy Nikki carb off and put on a Weber.Lol.BJ

check for vacuum advance on the distributor, might be clogged, without it your vehicle will have problems accelerating. also while its running, in nuetral or park, rev it up for a lil while and look under your truck (best to do in the dark) and see if your catylitic converter is getting red, if so, its clogged and not allowing your vehicle to breathe poperly, but honestly sounds like your advance hose coming off the distributor

accelerator pump on the carb is bad, or a cat is plugged up

sound like your choke isnt working right or vacume advance is froze up

i actually fixed the problem a while back, it was that my cat/pre-cat were both clogged VERY BADLY! lol. i gutted them both and now the truck runs great, more power then it's ever had

lol the first thing i do when i get something different is gut the cat because i dont have emissions here. just figure i would rub that in everones face that has emissions haha just playin

Must be nice man, I wish we had no emissions here . That would rule ass.
