is there a way to get the timing chain off the cam sprocket without having to take the whole front end of my motor apart just to get the head off my 84 2.0 ?

just take the sprocket off.

yeah i was looking at mine because i was going to reset the timing and it looks insane. i have never messed with a chain so it will all be new to me if i even mess with it, i have decided to drop a 305 in mine.

i've delt with a lot of timing chains but never one that was four feet long i didn't know if maybe it had a master link or something. i looked at taking the sprocket off but with all the damn spacers and gears it would be just as easy to take the front cover off.LOL

i find the easiest way to do things is with my cutting wheel. hahaha. just yank it out and v8 it. haha. let me know how it goes. if i can help i will. even if i have to pull my engine apart to let you know something. mine smokes like a train anyways. i would really like to kick the guy in the nuts that i bought it from.

this engine thats in it now is the one that came in the truck and the guy that i got it off of said it was a fresh engine but it smokes like crazy. i think i'm going to cut of all these old timing chains and get a motor cycle and drive around swinging it like those guys on mad max.
