Ok so when I put in the new tank (Relocated to the rear) I disconnected all the wiring and lines. After putting the new pump back in the new tank I extended the wiring to the rear and made sure that everything was good (Continuity testing). When I turned my key the pump didn't "prime" or turn on. I got the book out and it said something about a test connecter (yellow one) in the engine bay which I found. I turned the ignition on and went up to the tester and jumped it and it came on (I was happy ). But it's not coming on when I just turn the key.

Note: There's no fuel in the tank or anything but I didn't think that it would effect the pump trying to come on. The wiring is all ok because the test connecter proves it. So I'm wondering a.) If the pump needs to have fuel in it to come on when ignition is turned, or b.) The relay isn't working properly (drives side kick panel) which is causing it not to make contact when ignition is turned.

Any help would be great on this for all who have relocated a tank and gone through the same process .

Anyone else know anything about pressurizing the fuel pump or anything in my discription?

sorry man dont really know anything about this subject. i would say try to possibly straight wire it to see if you can get it to prime. might not be a good idea, just ask the others. this is the only thing i could figure to do and if it works then its in your wiring somewhere. also check all your grounds

Ya read the book or is that to much for you I know it took you a whole saturday to do what I did in what was it 5 minutes. Hey but we all have to learn someday as I learnt to keep your brother out of the garage early in the morning it still stinks in there.LOL hahahahahahahahahahahaha. But seriously if anyone has any input it would really help.

U said no fuel in the tank? As best I remember, the fuel pumps have a fail safe that will not let them function unless there is gas in the tank.Keeps them from burning up.I know this is true for the FI'd 2600i and am fairly sure it is true for the FI 2200.BJ

this may not be true with these trucks but my s10 had a black ground wire that bolted to the frame at the very back of it. all the other wires were hooked up except it and the pump would not come on. once i seen that i hooked it up and it came on. but you said all wires were hooked up and that it didnt have gas so like hocbj23 said it may be a fail safe so the pump doesnt burn up.

Awsome, we figured as much as that. I thought that as soon as it pressurized the system in would trip a turbine/switch and reset the system or something. Thanks very much for the help, it just lets the tension off me as it was bothering me for the past week .

Thanks for everything guys,

Dale
