Not sure what sheared crankshaft means.If the crank is actually broken,there is all sorts of internal damage possible,most of which would make rebuilding that short blocknot feasible.If the keyway is sheared in the crank snout (which these engines are prone to do),a REAL good mechanic can actually repair the crank keyway,install a new key and send u on your merry way- for not much money.A good short block will set u back about 4-500,maybe less and u can use all your other stuff off the old engine.A complete new engine is real expensive.bj
