i got my 105 amp 1 wire alternator for the 83 in today and i need to know how to wire it in? do i just get rid of the harness on the back of it altogether or what?

yea, pretty much, just the output wire goes from the alt. to the battery.. thats about it man.

You got it! The 1 wire goes straight to the battery.

Don't expect your alternator to do anything for you at idle speeds. Alternator output increases with rpm, even a 100amp unit won't put out much more than a 63amp unit at 1000rpm. If your using under drive pulleys, this may highlight or worsen idle output problems.

Just an FYI!

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

i also have a wire alt, and if u leave the truck idling in a lot while compressors are running or somthin like hittin switchin u will hva e a dead or low battery next time u start it,lol trust me,lol

I'm running one, it works just fine. Never had a charging problem. Just rev the motor when you first start the truck up and it will excite it self and start its routine.

i think you have to rev it to at least 2g? hell drive down the road and youll be safe id imagine -bf
