I have an 87 B2000 and just bought a boat. Its a 17ft bass boat. I've pulled the boat with the truck on flat road and it was fine just really slow getting up to speed, but I need to get over a bridge to get to the launch and I doubt the truck will make it especially if I hit the red light right before the bridge. Anyways, do you guys think that if I get a weber and maybe a header and better exhaust the truck will pull the boat up the bridge easily or what. The bridge by the way is pretty long and high.

Also, I have air shocks on my truck and routed the air filler line to go right next to the gas tank filler so I can just open the gas door and fill or deflate the shocks. I like it that way but my question is: what would be a good but cheap set up air tank and compressor wise so that I could fill and deflate the shcoks with a switch? I plan on adding a large air horn at some point too and the tank and compressor would serve a purpose for that as well.

Thanks ahead of time for any help/info you can give me, Ian

you can use a 3 gallon tank with a thomas air compressor, they are cheap. you get what you pay for.
but to run your airshocks it'd be fine.
as for your HP question, there's not a lot you can do for it, its like trying to get a crippled horse to win the kentucky derby...

What u need for towing is torque and not raw horsepower. If u could somehow swap ur 2000 for a B2600i,u could pull a boat without any trouble.I tried to pull a goodsize boat with a 2000 I had and got myself stuck on a hill with out the power to pull it up.Scared hell out of me.I then bought a 2600 and towed fine after that.If u do swap, get a truck with air cause they have the two core radiator which will help with cooling.BJ
