I want to change the gear oil in my tranny. How much do you put in, I know theres a bolt on the side of the tranny you take out to check the level but the bolt is striped. so I was just wonder how much roughly you put in.

Thanks

I think he said that the hole was messed up and he did not wont to take it out. Now according to the owners manual on my 92 yea can you believe it, its still there. It said 2.1 quarts. and you can just pull the shifter to put it in so you dont have to mess with that bolt.

Thanks for the info, well were talking about manual tranny the reason I was changing the oil was I have alot of heat coming up around my shifter and I thought it was low on gear oil , but I just finished changing the oil and it didn't help.

Any suggestions

U still have ur shifter boot around the stick?1 of the reasons it is there is to keep heat out of the cab.The only thing down there on a manual tranny is the tranny, nolines like on an AT that could give off heat. How about ur exhaust? Is it ok.?Just thoughts.BJ
