Anyone else have a Weber conversion with an inline fuel Pressure gauge?I have ben checking my pressure along and it fluctuates between 1.5 and 2 pounds.I think the Weber requires 3.5 to operate as it should. No problem getting the truck to run other than an erratic idle on occasion, but cant understand why the pressure is so low.Have not replaced the fuel pump as I really am not in the mood to drop the tank and get my mouth full of dirt.Lol.I am running no smog except the vapor cannister, and an EGR block off plate. No vacuum leaks that I can tell,no fuel leaks, and mileage improved from 18-19 to 22-23 with the Weber swap.Any suggestions or ideas?BJ

get a fuel pressure regualtor .... 25-30 bucks and adjust it to wherever you want it..

Tried that.Adjusted it to 4 pounds and the pressure dropped to 1 pound on my gauge (gauge was mounted on the carb side of the regulator).Took the reg off and the pressure went to 1.5-2 pounds.Of course both the gauge and regulator may both be wrong.Any other ideas? Thanks,Slammed.BJ

sound like your pump is failing

U may be right.I really didnt want to drop that damn tank though.I know u can take the bed off and get to the pump, but that isnt an option for me.Oh well mouthful of dirt here I come unless another answer surfaces for the low pressure.Thanks,Toddluck.BJ

well, when you crank the pressure up does your truck run differently? the fuel pump in these trucks can go pretty high, so i would imagine if your pump was failing it would be noticeable at higher rpms while driving, it would spit and sputter under heavy throttle especially, while cranking up the psi on the regulator, slam the throttle and it should shoot right up to desired pressure. if not you might have a faulty regulator or a pinhole leak in a line causing pressure drop. when you up it and pressure drops that usually indicates a hole somewhere, sometimes too small to notice or even smell leaky fuel. also there should be a check valve on the pump, when upping pressure and instead it drops your check valve might be crap... good luck man, you know mr. mazda and you are best buds

Hmm.Good insight.AT 4 pounds on the reg, when u rev the mota, pressure stays the same 1.5-2 pounds. In fact it only fluctuates at idle without the regulator.I ran 2 passes wide open at the 1/8 mile strip we have in CHatt about a month ago and it would hold 3000 rpm against the brakes and would rev to 5500 in second (AT remember) without trouble or stumbling, etc.May still have a pinhole leak sommers so I will keep looking and keep u posted. We put in all new hoses when we did the Weber swap but one could still be leaking. Thanks again Slammed.BJ

hey hoc instead of pulling your tank you could always put a mechanical fuel pump on it. and just let it suck through your old one or even buy one of the small electric in line fuel pumps. i had one on my v-8 s-10 and it worked great. and i have a fuel pressure regulator on my truck with my weber and i have it set on 2.5.

So,Justin,do u have a gauge on ur truck that tells u what ur pressure actually is?In other words is ur regulator accurate? My problem is my regulator is set at one PSI setting and the gauge is reading less so I dont know if I am getting enough fuel pressure or not> Ur idea about the inline pump makes sense though-I may try that after I check all the lines for a pinhole leak. Thanks for the input.BJ
