My fuel pump went. when I took out the tank to replace it my sending unit on top was so rusted I couldn't tell bolts from plate. I soaked it and carefully cleaned it to find one lead seperated. I've shown it to those who know and they say I need a new one. The truck is a reg cab manual trans 1992 fi b2200, and I can't find a used one anywhere in better shape and would rather go new but i went to everyone in town (napa, lordco, gilbert's,autosense,etc) and everyone one says this particular piece is a dealership only piece.carb no problem, fi no go. So I call the mazda dealer and wholesale they want me to pay $870 + tax for a complete fuel assembly!!!??? I go to rock auto online and find a fineline fi unit (su941) for $115 plus shipping. Will it fit/work? Will a 2.6 sending unit fit/work? any suggestions would be great.
