Can anyone tell me whats up here...
Its been kind of cold up here at night maybe -15 or so, I just switched to a winter thermostat.
My truck has been running OK. Sometimes it would die out on me as i would come up to a stop sign once it was first getting warmed up (after 5 or 10 minutes it would be fine, it might have done it a couple times after that) whenever i would drive it.
Today, I pumped the pedal a few times to engage the choke. It revved right up to 3000, bogged and died.
I tried it a few times same thing..
I said fukk this, Started driving it and it was real boggy. I blipped the throttle so it wouldn't stall, and started driving.
It was making small backfires, I turned down this street that had an uphill.. It barely made it up the hill, felt like I was driving a lawn tractor.
I said fukk this, im bringing it back and just parking it. Well, I go to turn around, it bogs and dies. I try to turn it over, it turns but won't fire. Wait 5 minutes...maybe it's flodded...pump the gas, try again..nothing. Tried this again 3 times.
Still nothing, i pulled off the carb filter (weber), took a lil whiff, didn't really smell like gas. I smacked my mechanical pump around a few times with a soft hammer, tried to turn it over and it ran for a second and died. I kept doing that until the truck warmed up to operating temp.
It still bogged, but it drove. I couldn't come to a stop or it would stall. I have to either blip the throttle or have constant throttle so it doesn't die..It's home now.
Discuss.
