Whining

Just wondering, there sounds like theres a whining coming from my rear end...or something..sounds when youve got your window down at highway speeds almost..somethin like that.. my rear end pooched?

also, wondering how easy it is to change diff and tranny fluid

(1) Get mother-in-law out of the back.

(2) Changing transmission oil and differential oil is straightforward, but buy the pump that fits on top of your transmission oil bottles. This is 80W-90 oil, NOT automatic transmission fluid. Always loosen the fill plugs first (so you know you can), then drain out the old oil. Replace filler bolt, pump in the new oil until it starts to flow out the fill hole, then replace that. It may help to have a helper pump the oil (and change bottles as necessary) while you hold the tube in the filler hole. I use Valvoline trans oil.

Could be.Change the fluid and run it a couple of days and drain it again.If u see little specks of metal in it,u got a problem.BJ

maybe all them dougnuts and one wheel peels have taken its toll on it. lol i did this on my dime i used to have had a built 305 in it and thought it would be sweet to show everybody the dougnuts it would ring. well next day i was limpin it home because the only gear it had was 2nd and slipped badly in it. live and learn i guess. goodluck

i think i narrowed it down to the carrier bearing, you can barely hear anything with the windows down, its when the windows are up when it really gets noticeable.

im checkin it tommorow. anyone got a good driveshaft around sudbury if it's fuckeed? or where can I get a one piece?
