mine came on at 200k. hoc can tell you how to get it off. i have a weber, header, and no computer or harness and it still came on. so i have no clue what told it too. my light is still on, im not driving it right now so it doesnt bother me.

theres a single wire plug, in the kick panel above the fuse box, the colours should be blue, brown and white 1 male connector and 2 female connectors if i can remember, unplug from one and plug it into another, and thats it

The port for the reader (as such) is on the passenger firewall where it butts on the pass.fenderwell..It is a small green plug that is the same color as the o2 sensor plug.BJ

I thought you had to take it and have it turned off by someone with one of those machines. Is that not true? Mine isn't @ 200k yet, but I was curious. More info on the switching those wires if you have it.

Midnight is correct. The light is a reminder for maintenance and comes on at certain mileage intervals. move the plug like he said and its done. no need to go to the dealer.

At 60K miles, 80K, 120K, etc., the Malfunction Indicator Light will come on, supposedly so you get dealer to check emissions but more likely so they can try to sell you a timing belt replacement. By the way, do get the timing belt replaced every 60K miles, and maybe get the water pump changed at the 120K point along with it, as it's an internal water pump, behind the timing belt, and mine started leaking at that point, so it's a big labor savings $$$ to do both at once. The Malfunction Indicator Light is re-set by swapping a wire push-on connector under the dash, driver side, right next to the firewall; it's hard to see, lie down and look up, there will be a bare connector, just swap it, then swap back next time the light goes on at that set interval.
