flex-a-lite, be cool, or spal, and deff use a thermo & relay.

I have a flex-a-lite dual 10" p/n 320 that will be installed on mine, and I know hocbj23 has a single on his which he says does a very nice job in the heat down here in the south.

NYTRDR24 i have looked for that part# and cant find it in the catalogs,

what size do the rest of you guys run? and since im down here in florida, would one 16 fan be enough for it with the A/C running? and since the A/C is always on do i run the fan off a relay to the a/c or just off the thermostat is fine?

can any post some pics of what you have installed.
thanks

I live in Tennessee and use a Flexalite 13 inch pull thru that has an adjustable switch so u can have it come on at less or more temp.I have a modified 2200 motor and it does fine for me.If ur in Florida with the a/c running all the time might want to use NYTRD's dual 10s set up,one pushing, one pulling.Mine is dual wired so that it comes on either when the a/c comes on or when the temp exceeds the preset.BJ

flex-a-lite discontinued that model, as well as the rest of their 10" fans
(i think), I guess they weren't too popular. best thing to do is to measure the size of the radiator inbetween the sides (just the finned area) then find one of the flex-a-lites that will fit inside those dimensions, if one of the 16" ones with the built in shroud will fit, that would be the way to go because the ones with the shroud will be more efficient.

The radiator measures 24x16 so i know i can fit alteast 2- 12" fans or 1-14"
and one 10" fan. so if i run one fan then i just run it with the thermostat? and let it come on only by the sensor.
Or should i run two fans one pushing for the a/c and one pulling off the thermostat?
is there anyway i could run one 14" on the radiator and one 10" in front of the condensor?
sorry for so many questions i just want to get it right the first time.

and one last thing, what do you guys think of Mr.Gasket fans???

one of the dual 12's will be more than sufficient to cool the truck, especially on a stock motor, or even a built one like mine. if you wanted to run two seperates with one in front of the condensor, and one behind the rad, they would have to move the same cfm & turn the same direction (which will actually mean one would have to be a pusher, and one a puller),
otherwise you'll end up burning one up because they will be working against each other, not to mention that would decrease their effectiveness, and probably not cool the engine like it should.....my f-a-lite has a seperate thermo, just set it at w/e temp you want the fan to kick on at. then you use a switched hot to pull in the relay, be it from an ignition hot that you've put an inline switch on, or you can use one of the existing circuits such as the thermo sensor for the a/c, that way when the a/c kicks in it will come on, or if the temp goes above w/e temp you set the thermo at, it will come on.
