What engines are direct bolt in?

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and was wondering which mazda engines will bolt in to my 91 b2200's engine bay without much modification. I'm interested in the "plug and play" type of engine swaps, no megasquirt or hacking of harnesses. thanks

the 2.0 will go in no problem haha, i dont think there are any other then that i know if you get a probe/mx6 head or intake or something like that it will go on. im not an expert on engines at all, i know next to nothing about them

i think its the mx6 motor that bolts right in. It doesnt quit fit though because the intake ends up facing toward the firewall.

put a old school carbed sbc 350 u will only need to use like 3 wires for that lol keep us posted on progress...

like dawgydawg said, the 86-87 2.0 will go in but may need to swap motor mounts. if you can source a mazda bongo engine (12v like the 626 & probe) the intake faces the right direction, & dizzy is on the front of the engine, it would be a drop in, but may require some wiring adjustments, other than that, your choices are endless with time & $$, rx-7 rotary engine, miata engine, kia engine, 626/probe engine are for the most part bolt in, but you'll have some fab & wiring issues, then you have a v6 or v8, which will for the most part require different drive line (tranny, rear axle, & driveshaft) not to mention the fab work & wiring that will be incurred.

Thanks for the advice, but I just got done with a nightmare engine swap in one of my other cars. I have a 1988 mazda 323, and just got done putting a BPT in it(turbo 1.8L miata engine). What i wanted for the truck is something fuel injected, and mazda though... Would the 2.6(g6) truck engine fit my b2200? or is that out of the question. thanks

you could do something with one of these setups, but would require you to run a stand alone ecu.....
