Speedometer cable

Can someone tell me if there speedo cable is routed right above the exhaust. Mine broke and where it's broke its melted to hell from the heat off the exhaust. there is a metal clip on one of the rails that guides it and holds it up.

Yah they run above the exhaust. Mine was broken and melted to the exhaust too.

gonna see what i can do about routing it differently so its not so close to the exhaust

re-route the exhaust. Seriously. Wrap it in thermal wrap stuff, and it will help more than you can imagine.

Truck needs a whole new exhaust catalytic conv is gone and it was about to tear up in the front so i had the muff shop remove the bad spot and piece in a chunk of pipe. could care less about the cat though
