Well, Do you have a fuel pressure regulator? Maybe the carb is sucking more fuel than the pump can handle? Do you ever hear a small whine from the pump? if so its running dry, which will cause it to fry also.... Bad ground? Shorted positive wire?

I agree with slammed yota. Also, where are you mounting the pump?

You don't seem to have the type with a fuel pump in the tank (an automatic). Question: so why not use a stock mechanical fuel pump with your Weber? That's what I have, no problems. I later added a fuel pressure regulator.

Have you contacted Mr. Gasket, I bet they'd rather help than keep giving you replacement pumps for free...

Im thinking that you dont have a breather for the fuel tank?? Making it very hard on the pumps.

92 2200s all have an electric fuel pump in the tank. They are also closed loop on the fuel system so have no vent.Automatic trucks have the filter next to the tank,5 speeds have the filter on the firewall.2200 trucks will not accept a mechanical pump.My guess is that the Mr.Gasket pump is somehow different at the fuel pickup end and is fuel starving and burning out.I would try a factory Maz pump and see what happens. Also, when u put the Weber on,what did u do with the charcoal cannister and fuel return line?If u left the return line open somehow, that is why the pump is cooking itself,it has no vacuum to assist in pumping the fuel up to the carb. Those pumps are only rated at 3.5 psi which aint much.Lol.???BJ

yea only fi trucks have tank pumps but i woulg go with a stock pump they are only 26 bucks (make sure it has the teflon spacer with it or it will leak oil and not work right ) i had a weber 30 and it worked better than an electric one

I had a '91 with an intank pump, and it was carb'd. even the dealership didnt understand. it never had a head mount.

Make sure that your aftermarket is mounted on the frame rail BELOW the top of the tank. I had that problem with those same pumps on my '85 chevy.

2000's have the mechanical head mounted pump.2200s and 2600is all have electric pumps.my 2200 carbed has an intank pump and it came from the factory that way.Fi trucks have an 11-13 psi pump, carbed trucks have a 3 psi pump..Only difference in a 2200 a/t and a 2200 5 speed is where the fuel filter is mounted.BJ
