What is a flipped ball joint? Why do you flipp it and what does it do when you flip it?

If u look at the pic of bagman's lower control arm u can see the balljoint on the top of the control arms, stock that balljoint is underneath the control arms and theres a little metal hump over it u have to cut the hump off and move the balljoint to the top of the control arm, giving u i'd say about an inch drop..

Cool, Any one ever tried making there own control arms? I mean anyone like cut and welded pieces to make whole new control arms? Like cut the middle section out and resuse the end pieces?
